Man In the High Castle - Ema

What does Brown (2001) identify as the central themes and concerns of the novel? What elements conform to the wider generic features of
SF?

Brown (2001) describes power as a central theme. Brown (2001) discusses how power used within the novel creates concern within the novel. Beginning with the power struggle within the Nazi stronghold and then the introduction of I Ching. The struggle between Eastern and Western ideology creates conflict. Brown (2001) states that in comparison to previous novels written by Philip K. Dick, Man In The High Castle is less surreal than his previous work indicating there aren’t many of the stereotypical elements of science fiction included.

  1. Hi Ema. As you know, this is only 120 words. So it wont receive a very high mark. A pity, because it started well.
